1st 6 days in Thailand

We have arrived!

welcome to the wonderful world of RAIN.

Day 1

1st night stay is at lub’d in Silom in Bangkok one of the most popular and cleanest hostels in Bangkok. After breaking my camera in transit we made our way to the local 7 story shopping centre  Siam Paragon complete with madam Tussuad’s and ice rink. Avoid the shoe stores I managed to purchase my brand new sony for close to 50 pounds. Shopping was followed by cocktails in Coyote Mexican restaurant and bar after a quick de tour art the Pat Pong Market where you can literally purchase anything even Ping Pongs :s

Day 2

Continuing our journey through thailand we take the short flight up to Chaing Mai. In comparision to Bangkok Chaing Mai is atmospheric, calm and pleasant. The people are more friendly and the prices are even lower!

Making our way to the traditional day market I give in and purchase my 1st pair of shoes for under 1 pound. A few streets later we find ourselves hungry and ready to hunt for food. Drawn in by the appealing exterior of the Whole Earth restaurant we took advantage of the locally produced food and pigged out on the traditional thai dishes and neighbouring Indian cuisine. The night was still young and in need of entertainment we make our way to watch Thai boxing held at the Kalmare Night Bazzer boxing stadium. The 1st fight was the most brutal shocked and disgusted at how young the contestants were. After the 1st five minutes having VIP front row tickets no longer seemed appealing as being covered with blood and sweat from the fighters is just nasty. The skill, technique and endurance that is used is amazing, if the sport wasn’t so violent I would be the number 1 fan.

Day 3

The walking beings. 9am we head for the hill trek to visit the tribes of Chiang Mai. Equipped with our ponchos and pringles to combat the rain and hunger. 2 hours in we stop to have a shower under a waterfall the view was breathtaking and the water crystal clear, we washed away our troubles with the water massaging our backs.

After a 3 hour up hill trek we make it to the 1st village, the toilet a whole in the ground and the shower a hose I thought it would be more basic. As out of place as we look the more at home i feel.

Day 4

Walking.

I hate walking… 4.5 hours walking through rain, through bugs and elephant shit.

That is all.

Day 5.

Being woken up to find an elephant outside while we eat breakfast. I got the glorious duty to ride the elephant on its neck without anything to hold on to. I will admit I was shitting it! But its an experience that I will never forget. Unfortunately it rained to hard for us to go rafting down the river back to Chaing MaI but being so sore from walking I don’t think my bum could have taken the waves.

The only thing I want to do now is wash my clothes which at the moment smell like donkey arse and get a Thai massage.

We paid 3 pound each for a hour long Thai massage which felt like i had been stretched and at least 12 cm taller.

Day 6.

We have our 1st lay in and sleep past 8am.

Before leaving ChaingMai we thought it would be rude to not visit the Tiger Kingdom. Rhea got bitten by one of the cubs lol but it was weird being that close to such a massive cat!.

We are back in Bangkok now and just returned from some local drinks, its 3:18 am and we have not yet slept but we are making our way back to the airport within the hour to visit the south of Thailand. I will need a holiday from this holiday.

Peace out!

Shaka Zulu, Camden

Its not only because its a 750 seater restaurant why you can get lost in the fairytale world the venue entices all of your senses from the moment you walk down the stairs, the 1st thing I remember is the inviting smells coming from the open flame kitchen and the sounds of the African beats being played then I was blown away with the sights.

Never judge a book by its cover from the outside it looks like an average Joe Camden restaurant trying to be a little cool. On the inside it is more than a little cool.

London is blessed with the largest south African restaurant which opened its doors to Camden stables in 2010. The design of the venue is blessed by the Zulu King him self Goodwill Zwelithini an his imprints can be found on every wall ceiling and floor with the 30ft high status of his warriors.

It is difficult to imagine how amazing this place is, it is more like a museum rather than a restaurant, the food was just as impressive as the surroundings I would recommend the Prawns which where the biggest King Prawns I have ever seen cooked to absolute perfection however, didn’t really enjoy the ostrich. Maybe I am not as open minded as I thought… it reminded me of Reindeer which I also hate :s but the Pork and Ham Sosaties with apricot and sherry were very satisfying.

As well as the food and the surrounding you can also enjoy the cocktails which are served in the upstairs bar and late night entertainment in the Kings club.

A great night. Plus I found my warrior king :)

I loved Him First!

I don’t care how many people claim it, wish it, say it. I loved him from the 1st moment I met him 3 years ago. I’ve sung for him I’ve made videos for him I’ve fought for him and I will continue until he is a major super star.

Love you Ed. If you haven’t heard or seen the video please watch it now.

You know your a Londoner when….

1.            You hate when people stand on the left hand side of the escalator and shout at them to MOVE

2.            You dream of a day when there will be a tourist lane in oxford and      regent street

3.            If your lost, you don’t ask for directions. TRUST NO ONE

4.            You don’t hear sirens any more

5.            No one get priority seating on the tube, you can remove your “baby on board badge” I am not moving

6.            You hate cyclists, decide what you are a pedestrian or a car you can’t have the best of both worlds and use both road and pavement.

7.            You think the mice you see at the tube stations are the pets you never had.

8.             You meet up with friends on a Monday after work and get totally trashed then pretend your ill the next day

9.            Everyone at your gym is Hot

10.          You don’t understand why we need grass

11.          You hate British tourists more than any other kind

12.          If your cool you have an I phone. If your trying to be cool its a blackberry.

13.          The journey to and from work is the only peace you have.

14.          You have come up with a strategy on how to avoid the charity workers.

15. Your friends with the homeless man at Charing Cross station (the fat man with the hat) and laughed when he sold the  metro tourists on the royal wedding haha suckers !

16. You think that people that smell shouldn’t be allowed on the tube

Graduation

It is over. Thank the heavens above.

4 years of studying International Events Management at Brighton University is finally over. I still believe that the value of the bachelor of arts degree is half of what is was 20 years ago. Not having a degree now is like not having 5 A-C G.S.C.E

.

Having a degree is not a gateway to a high flying job, it is remembering how much fun and laughter you experienced over those four years. It is odd when you think about how many different types of people from all around the world choose the same course as you and potentially shape your student years. I have met some amazing people as well as the bloody annoying.

Unfortunately I didn’t realise how much I loved uni until the last week when it was all coming to an end. Living in a house with 3 of your best friends made the experience what is was. I thank all of you for helping me through the good and the ugly times but, all fun things must come to an end. So more fun things can begin!

Overall, I am happy I decided to do it. Happy I made it through. Also feel very lucky to have a job already and my heart goes out to all those still looking for one. Keep your head up and good luck, miss you guys!

Kensignton Roof Gardens

Since my visit to Kensington Roof Gardens my expectations of service have been set extremely high! With the scenic atmosphere and warm welcome if I could afford to spend £60 on dinner every weekend this is where you would find me.

Of course relying on English weather is not my smartest move, as a group of under-dressed over glammed 25 year old we where not prepared luckily, our rather dashing waiter was quick to offer us blankets and outdoor heaters awww. After a few pre drinks the BBQ was ready, this was kind of like a home made BBQ but with better quality cuts of meats and roasted vegetables, the menu consisted of pork belly, beef steak, lamb, prawns, chicken and sides. Amazing. Being a carnivore this amount of meat was perfect for me unfortunately i didn’t leave enough room for dessert.

The entire night was faultless, the amazing jazz band added to the chilled out atmosphere in the beautiful Tudor Gardens and after enjoying a shisa the club upstairs did not disappoint. Overall fabulous night :)

Nike and Liberty Collaboration

I am not normally a fan of trainers however I woke up at 8:00am and made my way into London to get myself a pair (or 2) of these bad boys!

The 3 year collaboration between Liberty and Nike has been so popular in past years ,using the traditional Nike dunk trainers and the vintage Liberty prints creating the perfect footwear for women who don’t like trainers.

I loved them all so much however you are only allowed to buy 2 pairs at a time!Nikw

Thanks Nike- Thanks Liberty

Carbon Nightclub, W1C 1LZ, Saturday 26th March.

After working a 10 hour shift I braved the walk from Mayfair to Marble Arch hoping that the days protesters have decided to go home and that I would not get paint on my KG’s

Carbon

I tend to hate clubs that only have one room and one sound however the mix of music genre kept the night exciting. A good place to go to avoid the rif raf and unlike many central London clubs Carbon provided us with a nice crowd of relaxed people many were not from London due to the attached Cumberland hotel.

Good Point: Nicest nightclub staff I have ever come across.

In addition to my “Generation Company” blog Coca Cola’s avatar advert is a cleaver interpretation of today’s society.

But Social media allows you to be who ever you want to be and live (portray) what ever life you want. Untagging your self in photos you feel fat in and publishing you successes to the world without mentioning your regrets.

Is this a true reflection of those we class as friends? I think I am a princess for goodness sake!

Life is always more fun when you are just yourself (or a princess).
